Unit 1:
In this unit we will focuse on Investigation and Experimentation. We learned how to write well written hypothesis, a well written set of procedures and how to creat a well designed experiment. He alsow reviwed how to Collect good quantitative data along with this he showed us how to graph the quantitative data and analyzing the data. Mr.Ozeni alsow gave us some rules to writing a good conclusion. We practice all of these things daily with all the projects Ozeni has given us.
8th Grade Science Standards Covered:
Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for understanding this concept and addressing the content in the other three strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations. Students will:
- Plan and conduct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
- Evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of data.
- Distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in a test.
- Construct appropriate graphs from data and develop quantitative statements about the relationships between variables.
